Free vs Licensed Use

Gareth Casey Updated by Gareth Casey

When Flashback Express 7 is first run, it will automatically download a free license for you to use. This allows you to use Flashback Express 7 for free but with some restrictions:

  • Recording time is limited to 2 minutes
  • Auto-trimming is unavailable when recording
  • A watermark is added to video exports
  • Limited to 10 mins of subtitle transcription (license owners get 120 mins and can purchase top-ups)
  • Limited to 6 mins of A.I. voice changer (license owners get 75 mins and can purchase top-ups)

Licensing Flashback Express 7

To remove the recording and exporting restrictions, a license needs to be purchased or an existing licence for an older Flashback product (Flashback Pro and Flashback Express 6) needs to be upgraded.

When licensing Flashback Express 7, you have a choice between a Lifetime License or an Annual Subscription:

  • Lifetime License - A one-time purchase that lasts forever
  • Annual Subscription - A subscription that will automatically renew every year until cancelled.

See Purchasing a license, Upgrading from Flashback Pro and Express and Registering a license for more details on how to purchase, upgrade and enter a license key into Flashback Express 7.

When licensed, the recording time limit will be removed, you will be able to export video projects without any watermark appearing on them and there will be additional usage of the subtitle transcription and A.I. voice changer features allowed. Users who need even more usage of the subtitle transcription and A.I. voice changer features, will also be able to purchase top-up packs.

See Feature Credits for more details on credits.
