Voiceovers

Gareth Casey Updated by Gareth Casey

If you are recording a new video that requires an voiceover, you can recording yourself talking into your microphone while recording the video in the Recorder.

However, if you decide that you don't like the original voiceover or you also want to add a voicerover to videos that weren't recorded using Flashback Express 7, you can add a voiceover in the Project Editor.

Adding a Voiceover

Before you start recording a voiceover, you first need to set where you will start recording from by selecting the start point on the Timeline.

When you are ready to begin recording, click the Voiceover button above the Timeline to open the Voiceover Recorder.

Make sure that you have the correct microphine selected in the drop down menu and then click the Record button to start recording. A countdown will displayed, after which your video project will begin to play. Anything that you say while the project plays will be recorded as the new voiceover.

When you click the Stop button, the voiceover will be saved as a new audio clip on the Timeline.

If you were not happy with your voiceover, you can click the Retake button to immediately redo the voiceover starting from the original start point.

Voiceover Options

Besides selecting which microphone to record from, you can also set the volume of the voiceover using the Volume slider and enable the Reduce noise option to clean up any background noise and make your recorded audio sound clearer.

If there is existing audio in your video project, such as an existing voiceover that will be replace, you may find it use to enable the Mute timeline option so that you don't need to listen to anything that may distract you while you are recording the new voiceover.
