Transitions

Gareth Casey Updated by Gareth Casey

Transitions can be added to the start or end of any video, image or GIF to create interesting ways to make the object's image appear and disappear during video playback.

Flashback Express 7 contains a library of different Transitions that you can add, including simple transitions such as fades and wipes and more elaborate transitions such as shapes and liquids.

Adding a Transition

You can add a Transition to an object by going to the Transitions tab of the Media Panel, choosing which Transition you want to add and then dragging and dropping it onto the Timeline object that you want to apply it to.

While dragging the Transition, the or icon will appear at the start and end of every Timeline object that the Transition can be added to. The icon indicates where it would be added as a new Transition and the icon indicates where it will replace an existing Transition.

Drop the Transition on the icon for wherever you want the Transition to be applied. The icon will then change to the icon to indicate that the Transition has been applied.

Deleting Transitions

When a Transition has been added to an object. the icon will be added to the Timeline object to indicate the Transition's presence.

The icon also allows you to remove the Transition by right clicking on it and selecting Delete.

Or you can change which style of Transition is used by dragging and dropping a new Transition.
