Styling Media

Gareth Casey Updated by Gareth Casey

The Style Panel is found down the right side of the Project Editor but it will only show options when a media oject is selected.

Any media object that you have added to a project can be customized. The options for each indiviudal object will be displayed in the Style Panel when the object is selected either on the Timeline or the Video Canvas.

The exact properties available will vary depending on what sort of object has been selected but they include things like opacity, color and whether the object fades in and out but they allow you to customize each individual object to fit exactly what you need.

When certain Effects are applied to an object, such as Transitions and Smart Zooms, those can also be customized in the Style panel. To display an Effect's properties, click on the Effect icon that is added to the object on the Timeline.

Flipping an Object

If you need to flip an object so that its appearance is mirrored either vertically or horiozontally, you can do that by clicking the and buttons.

Resizing an Object

Instead of manually resizing objects, you can either set them to Fit to or Fill the entire Canvas by clicking the and buttons.

When fitting to the Canvas, the object will be made as large as possible without cropping any of the image, whereas filling the Canvas will make the object large enough to cover the entire Canvas even if that means part of the object extends outside the visible part of the Canvas.
