Fades

Gareth Casey Updated by Gareth Casey

Fades can be added to the start and end of any object.

When added to any visual object, such as a Video, Image or Text, a fade will control how quickly the object appears or disappears .

When added to an Audio object, a fade will control how quickly the audio's full volume is faded in to and out from.

Adding a Fade

To add a fade, simply select the object on either the Canvas or the Timeline and then enable the Fade-in Animation and/or Fade-out Animation in Style Panel on the right.

Fade Ins and Fade Outs are added separately so you can enable them forthe start, end or both of an object.

Customizing a Fade

When a fade has been added, the Duration option will appear so that you can set how long that specific fade will take.

All fades will initially be set to a 1.0 second duration when applied but they can be customized to have a duration of between 0.1 - 5.0 seconds. The duration can adjusted by either moving the Duration slider or by entering a new value in the time box.
