Animation Effects

Gareth Casey Updated by Gareth Casey

Animations can be added to the start and end of any visual object.

When added to any visual object, such as a Video, Image or Text, the animation lets you customize how that objects appears or disappears. The types of animations available include simple fades and more dynamic animations where the object can slide, drop or zoom in and out of view.

Adding an Animation

To add a fade, simply select the object on either the Canvas or the Timeline and then select the Animation tab in the Style Panel on the right. Select In to add an Animation for how the object will appear on screen and Out to select how it will disappear .

The In and Out animations are completely separate so you can apply them to the start, end or both for an object.

Customizing an Animation

When an Animation fade has been applied, the Duration slider at the bottom of the Style Panel lets you set how long that specific animation will last for.

All Animations will initially be set to a 1.0 second duration when applied but they can be customized to have a duration of between 0.2 - 30.0 seconds. The duration can adjusted by either moving the Duration slider or by entering a new value in the time box.
