Freeze Frame

Gareth Casey Updated by Gareth Casey

Sometimes when you are editing a saved recording, you will find that perhaps a particular part was not shown for long enough. This can be an issue when adding voice over or captions afterwards.

The solution to this is to add a Freeze Frame, which will insert a still image of the current frame that can be resized on the timeline to keep that image on screen for as long as you need it.

Adding a Freeze Frame

You can add a Freeze Frame by selecting the frame that you want to freeze on on the time line, then right clicking on the video clip and selecting the Freeze Frame option in the menu that appears.

The video clip will then be split into two parts with an image clip of the frozen frame inserted in between them on the time line. The image clip can be resized to set how long the video will appear frozen for.
